Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA) is expanding its Minnesota recycling plant with a $71 million investment, increasing its annual capacity of ‘made in America’ recycled aluminum to 200,000 tons. The expansion, part of EGA Spectro Alloys, is working to meet growing US demand for domestically produced aluminum. Upon completion, the project will double EGA Spectro Alloys’ aluminum billet capacity, as US demand for recycled aluminum continues to grow.
Why This Matters
The expansion of EGA Spectro Alloys’ Rosemont, Minnesota recycling facility will strengthen domestic aluminum production, a critical material for manufacturing supply chains. EGA’s investment will also support an anticipated 50 new manufacturing jobs in the state, adding to the over 150 jobs at EGA Spectro Alloys’ existing aluminum recycling plant.
