WASHINGTON, DC – MDE Tennis announced today that Mubadala Investment Company will become the exclusive Title Sponsor of Washington, DC’s historic tennis tournament, which will be rebranded as the Mubadala DC Open effective June 4, 2026. The new five-year agreement, running from 2026 through 2030, builds on Mubadala’s successful experience as Co-Title sponsor from 2023 to 2025 and further solidifies a long-term partnership between one of the world’s most important tennis events and one of the world’s preeminent investment firms.

The tournament is the only combined ATP/WTA 500 tournament in the world and kicks off the North American summer pro tennis swing, which starts in the Nation’s Capital and culminates in New York at the US Open. As a result of this partnership, the Mubadala DC Open will continue to grow on the global professional tennis stage while further cementing its place as one of Washington, DC's signature annual sporting events. The announcement comes amid unprecedented momentum for the tournament, which has recorded 59 consecutive session sellouts since 2019 while expanding its community impact, partner portfolio and media reach.

This new expanded partnership with Mubadala will also benefit the Washington Tennis & Education Foundation (WTEF), which has received approximately $50 million as the tournament’s primary beneficiary since the event was founded in 1969. This longstanding relationship with the tournament and WTEF provides community programming and expanded access to academic enrichment, mentorship, tennis and youth development opportunities across the Washington region, which has significantly increased with Mubadala’s engagement in recent years and remains a cornerstone of the tournament’s legacy and community impact.

The tournament’s 57th edition will take place July 25 - August 2 at the William H.G. FitzGerald Tennis Center in Rock Creek Park. Across nine days, the event will again bring together world-class tennis with a growing program of community, business, philanthropic, civic and social events across the region that have helped make the Mubadala DC Open one of Washington, D.C. 's leading sporting events.

With its unique ATP/WTA 500 status, the Mubadala DC Open stands alone on the tennis calendar, bringing together the sport’s top men and women players to a single, world-class event in the Nation’s Capital. As the fifth-largest professional tennis tournament in the United States, the event continues to attract one of the strongest player fields of the summer calendar. Over its storied history, the tournament has featured champions and icons including Arthur Ashe, Jimmy Connors, Andre Agassi, Andy Roddick, Sloane Stephens, Jessica Pegula, Coco Gauff and Jannik Sinner, with Alex de Minaur and Leylah Fernandez most recently capturing titles in 2025. The tournament has also become a hometown stage for local stars like Frances Tiafoe and Hailey Baptiste, giving sellout Washington crowds the chance to watch two of the world’s top players compete alongside the sport’s biggest names in their home city.
