The UAE once again claimed the top spot for AI diffusion globally, according to the 2026 Microsoft AI Economy Institute analysis. AI diffusion tracks how rapidly populations and organizations adopt and adapt AI tools across sectors. The UAE accelerated from 64% adoption in the second half of 2025 to 70.1% in Q1 2026. Only 26 countries worldwide have AI diffusion rates above 30%, and the UAE's rate is nearly double that of the closest Middle Eastern country.

The UAE's broad integration of AI at every level of society makes it an ideal testing ground for American AI firms looking to scale innovation. The country offers a unique combination of sovereign capital, advanced digital infrastructure and a population eager to adopt cutting-edge technology. The fast-developing 5GW UAE-US AI Campus and recent delivery of American AI chips create additional pathways for US companies to scale internationally. Already, Microsoft has committed $15.2 billion to the UAE AI ecosystem, spanning infrastructure development, cloud adoption and training local AI talent. Oracle, OpenAI, Nvidia and other leading US tech companies are collaborating with UAE partners to advance AI applications.
