The UAE ranked second among the world's top AI superpowers, following the United States, according to a report by US data center company TRG Data centers. The UAE has a total compute power of 23.1M (H100equivalents), over 188K AI chips and a total power capacity of 6.4K megawatts. This is more than 3x the compute of the next largest AI power.
The report evaluated compute, government AI readiness and the strength of AI companies. The UAE’s ranking reflects significant investments in AI infrastructure, including Stargate UAE, and its deep collaborations with leading US tech firms such as Oracle, Microsoft and IBM.
Why This Matters
The U.S.-UAE AI Acceleration Partnership's unique collaborative framework distinguishes both nations from other AI-dominant countries and is set to significantly enhance compute capacity even further.
The UAE’s advanced AI ecosystem and data center infrastructure create an ideal launchpad for US hyperscalers. With planned investments totaling hundreds of billions into this partnership, the UAE is actively developing critical computing and energy infrastructure, fostering high-value job creation, and propelling innovation in both countries.
