Abu Dhabi’s G42 is a founding member of the Open Secure AI Alliance, a coalition convened by Nvidia of more than 70 leading technology companies building open tools to safeguard software and AI agents. The alliance prioritizes cybersecurity in open-weight and open-source AI development.
Why This Matters
G42's membership places the UAE alongside Microsoft, IBM and SpaceXAI in setting the security standards that will govern open-source AI development. For the UAE, this is not a new direction — it is the next layer of a technology partnership with the US that already spans infrastructure investment, compute access and the U.S.-UAE AI Acceleration Partnership. The question of who builds the security architecture for global AI is being answered, in part, in Abu Dhabi.
“The future of AI will be defined not only by how capable our models become, but by how securely and confidently nations and enterprises can build on them.” — Peng Xiao, G42 Group CEO
