Stargate UAE is on track to bring its first 200MW of compute online in the third quarter of 2026. Representing 20% of the site’s total 1GW capacity, the AI cluster will be one of the world’s largest data centers upon completion.
Developed by Khazna Data Centers in partnership with OpenAI, Oracle, NVIDIA, Cisco, SoftBank and G42, the data center is part of the wider UAE-US AI Campus in Abu Dhabi and is dedicated to delivering secure, sovereign and scalable compute to US companies. The full buildout of Stargate UAE is expected to be completed in 3 years, according to G42.
Why This Matters
The construction of Stargate UAE is progressing at breakneck speed, accelerated by the US government’s approval of advanced chip exports to UAE tech leader G42. Stargate UAE’s launch will allow American companies to deploy AI solutions in the $8 trillion Middle East, Africa and South Asia (MEASA) economy, expanding commercial opportunities across the region.
Stargate UAE is one of the first major collaborations under the landmark U.S.-UAE AI Acceleration Partnership and OpenAI’s first international rollout of its Stargate infrastructure.
