US Investors Deepen Abu Dhabi Footprint as ADGM Continues to Grow

October 2026

Capital Group and New Mountain Capital are expanding their Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM) presence, joining a growing wave of US firms moving into the UAE's capital. Capital Group — managing $3.6 trillion in assets — has secured its FSRA license, accelerating its plans to open an Abu Dhabi office. New Mountain Capital, with $60 billion in AUM, has officially opened its ADGM office, building on more than two decades of institutional relationships across the Gulf.

Why This Matters

ADGM is growing fast, with AUM up more than 50% year-over-year in the first half of 2026, driven in large part by US financial firms — including Barings, Bain Capital, Muzinich & Co., Madison Realty Capital and Blue Owl Capital — expanding into the market this year.

This reflects a broader trend. US asset managers are increasingly choosing the UAE as their regional hub, drawn by the country's world-class financial system, strong regulatory environment and deep pools of sovereign capital. Capital Group and New Mountain Capital join more than 1,500 American companies already operating in the UAE.

"The Middle East is strategically important to Capital Group and our clients. Securing our regulatory licence in Abu Dhabi reflects our long-term commitment to the region and our conviction in its continued development as a leading international financial centre." — Mike Gitlin, President and CEO of Capital Group
