Emirates placed a $38 billion order for 65 Boeing 777X jets, bringing its future fleet to 315 Boeing wide bodies and further cementing its status as the world’s largest Boeing 777 operator. Meanwhile, flydubai ordered 75 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, valued at $13 billion, and 60 GEnx-1B engines.

Additional highlights from the airshow include:

·      California’s Joby Aviation completed its first piloted point-to-point flight and announced the construction of additional eVTOL vertiports in Dubai.

Why This Matters

The new deals from the Dubai Airshow strengthen the longstanding UAE-US aviation partnership, supporting US manufacturing jobs and economic growth across Washington, California, Ohio, North Carolina and South Carolina.

Emirates, Etihad and flydubai are longtime customers of Boeing and GE Aerospace, with Boeing and Emirates’ business relationship dating back 40 years. UAE airlines operate fleets of hundreds of American-made aircraft and engines, forming a key part of the $1 trillion UAE-US economic partnership.

"This landmark Emirates-Boeing deal is a testament to the enduring US-UAE economic partnership. Emirates' commitment to 280 Boeing 777 aircraft—powered by advanced GE Aerospace engines—will support thousands of American manufacturing jobs and highlights our shared dedication to innovation and global connectivity." – Ambassador Yousef Al Otaiba, UAE Ambassador to the United States, Source
